1.GO BEHIND 42 NEZALEZHNOSTI STREET. The cemetery is on the side of Town Hill, opened in the seventeen hundreds, about a hectare, with several hundred matzevos and the kevorim of the Hager rebbes on it.
2.THERE ARE THREE OHELS AND HIS IS THE SECOND. They were built by Oholei Tzadikim, who have put up or rebuilt ohels in more than ten cemeteries in western Ukraine. The second is over Menachem Mendel, son of Yaakov Kopel — the Ahavas Shalom. Ask for the second ohel rather than walking all three.
3.HIS MATZEVAH IS ONE OF THE OLDEST STILL READABLE on the ground, dated 1825. Only two older ones can be read at all, from 1779 and 1783.
4.THERE ARE MASS GRAVES A HUNDRED AND FIFTY TO TWO HUNDRED METRES AWAY, on the site of the former castle, marked by a plaque put up in 1992. They are not in the cemetery but they are within sight of it.
5.SURVEYED COORDINATES. The map point on this listing is the cemetery itself, measured on the ground by the ESJF survey — not a town centre. Where a kever is inside an ohel it will still need finding once you are through the gate, but the gate is now something you can navigate to.
