1.HE IS NOT BURIED IN LECHOVITCH. Reb Mordechai was in Stolin in the winter of 1810, staying with Reb Asher of Stolin for a grandchild's wedding, and he was niftar there on 13 Shvat 5570. He was buried in Stolin. This page used to present Lyakhavichy as his resting place; it should not have, and it does not now.
2.THE EXACT SPOT IN STOLIN IS NOT CONFIRMED. What stands there is a monument put up by Reb Yisroel Meir Gabbai, who marked a great many of these kevorim across Belarus and Ukraine when the old ground itself could no longer be read. Stand at the monument knowing that is what it is.
3.LYAKHAVICHY IS STILL WHERE THE CHASSIDUS BEGAN. He led from this town, and the Kobrin and Slonim lines descend from what he built here. It is worth the journey for that — but it is a town to see, not a kever to daven at.
4.Stolin is about a hundred and forty kilometres south of Lyakhavichy, deep in the Polesia marshes. It is a separate day, not a detour, and Belarus entry rules change — check current travel requirements before setting out.
