טשענסטאָכאָוו — אוהל בעל שפתי צדיק

Częstochowa — Ohel of the Siftei Tzaddik

Jewish cemetery, ul. Złota, Częstochowa, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland

  • This is a large, remote and unstaffed site — roughly 8 hectares with thousands of matzeivos — with a history of vandalism and access problems. Do not go alone and do not go late in the day.
  • The cemetery lies south-east of the city centre off ul. Złota, near the former Warta steelworks. We are not publishing turn-by-turn directions or a house number, because we could not confirm any; go with someone who has been, or arrange a local guide.
  • The ohel holds two matzeivos, the Siftei Tzaddik's and his son Reb Yitzchak Meir's. Confirm the exact kever on the ground when you arrive.
  • SURVEYED COORDINATES. The map point on this listing is the cemetery itself, measured on the ground by the ESJF survey — not a town centre. Where a kever is inside an ohel it will still need finding once you are through the gate, but the gate is now something you can navigate to.
