גראדנע — ציון רבי שמעון שקאפ

Grodno — kever of Reb Shimon Shkop

New Jewish cemetery, Zaniemanski Forshtat, across the Neman, Grodno, Belarus

  • There is more than one Jewish cemetery in Grodno and the older ones did not survive. The one you want is the newest, on the far side of the Neman in the Zaniemanski Forshtat quarter — being across the river is why it was spared.
  • Navigate across the Neman first and ask locally for the Jewish cemetery in Zaniemanski; the older sites in the city centre will not have what you came for.
